SPECIAL
CURSE RULES

The special course rules of the GC Wels

1. Out of bounds

Marked by white stakes or lines.
Public roads and their neighbouring squares.

2. Abnormal course conditions including immovable obstructions
(Rule 16.1a)

Supported and protected trees.
Distance markings on the fairways.
Drainages and newly laid lawns.
All bridges on the golf course.
Paths covered with bark mulch. Odds wood chips are regarded as loose, obstructive natural substances.
All stone walls on the course (e.g. hole 10 left of the green)
Anthills/Flowerbeds. Absolute ban on playing!

3. Bark mulch

Bark mulch around trees and shrubs is an integral part of the golf course.

4. Dropping zones on holes 9 and 11

If a ball arrives in a penalty area on hole 9 or 11 come to rest, there is the additional possibility - with a penalty stroke - drop a ball in the marked dropping zone, whereby the dropping zone is a relief Area according to rule 14.3.

5. Provisional ball in penalty area at hole 11

To save time and avoid unnecessarily delaying the flow of play, Rule 18.3 is modified here. A player may play a provisional ball from the drop zone (model local rule E-1) and then walk across the stream to search for the ball. If the original ball is found, the provisional ball is out of play.

6. Dropping on hole 12

If a ball comes to rest in the penalty area on hole 12 (the stream straight ahead up to the bridge, not the pond on the side), there is the additional option—with a penalty of one stroke—to drop on the opposite side of the penalty area. The reference point is the estimated point on the opposite boundary of the penalty area, equidistant from the hole as the point where the original ball crossed the penalty area. The relief area, measured from this reference point, encompasses two club-lengths.

7. Electric lawn mowers

If a lawnmower is hit, the stroke must be repeated without penalty. If the ball is displaced by the lawnmower, the ball must be returned to its original position (which, if unknown, must be estimated).

We kindly ask you to observe the etiquette as well as the golf and course rules and wish you a relaxing round of golf and enjoyable hours at Golfclub Wels.

A nice game!
