It's not just about courtesy, sportsmanship and pace of play, but also about consideration for others. These rules should be a matter of course on the golf course.
"Spirit of the Game"
1. Entering/using the golf course and the facility is at your own risk
Playing on the course is only permitted with a valid playing license.
2. Only Soft Spikes
The golf course is designed for soft spikes. Wearing shoes with metal or ceramic spikes is therefore prohibited without exception.
3. Green fee players
The green fee card must be purchased at the secretary's office before the start of the round and visibly attached to the golf bag. The green fee card is non-transferable and cannot be refunded.
4. Tee Time
Registration for a round of golf is mandatory. Starting times can be booked daily from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. online or at the secretary's office for a maximum of 14 days in advance. The booked tee times must be strictly adhered to.
In principle, every round of golf starts on hole one.
On Mondays, every round of golf starts on hole ten without exception.
6. Shortening the way
It is strictly forbidden to shorten the course and change fairways without good reason.
7. Flights of four/Playing through
A maximum of four players are allowed in a flight. Slower flights should play through if the next hole is free and the following flight is already waiting.
8. Playing time
The specified playing times according to the “Pace of Play” table must be adhered to: Flights of three max. 4 hours
Flights of four max. 4½ hours
9. Golf course care
Test shots on the tees are not permitted. Divots must be put back and pressed down. Pitch marks on the greens must be repaired. Bunkers must be leveled with the rakes after use. Waste and garbage must be disposed of in the waste garbage cans.
10. Golf course maintenance by greenkeepers
Greenkeepers always have priority when working on the course.
All players are obliged to avoid any danger to the greenkeepers.
11. Smoking at the golf course
The indiscriminate disposal of cigar and/or cigarette butts on the golf course is not permitted. Please use ashtrays.
12. Range balls
Range balls are the property of the golf club and may only be used on the driving range for practice purposes. Picking up range balls is prohibited, as is their use on other practice facilities (putting, pitching and chipping greens). Taking or depositing range balls in caddie boxes, checkroom lockers etc. is prohibited. Playing with range balls on the course is prohibited without exception and will result in a ban from the course.
13. Golf carts and trolleys
Golf carts and/or trolleys may not be driven onto tees, greens and foregreens and areas between bunkers and greens without exception. Users of golf carts must observe the golf cart regulations.
14. Dogs on the golf course
Members of GC Wels are only permitted to take a dog with them on a round of golf if the dog has been registered with the secretary's office in advance. Dogs must always be kept on a leash.
Dogs are not permitted at tournaments without exception.
15. Compliance with the etiquette
Authorized persons for compliance with the etiquette are the marshal and the board.
16. Sanctions for breaches of etiquette
First offense: Information and education Second offense: Warning
Third offense: Decision of the board on possible consequences (e.g. golf course ban, etc.).
